Tata Power Plans to Build a Solar Power Facility in Maharashtra With a Capacity of 250 MW

Tata Power announced today that its subsidiary TP Saurya Limited (TPSL) has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Ltd. (MAHAGENCO) for the construction of a 250 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic power plant in Maharashtra.

TPSL was awarded the project through a tariff-based competitive bidding process and an e-Reverse auction.

This letter of intent was received as part of MAHAGENCO’s application to build a 250 MW solar project at the Dondaicha Solar Park in Maharashtra’s Dhule district. MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) has agreed to buy the electricity generated by this solar plant.

The solar plant will be operational in 15 months from the date of the PPA signing.

Tata Power’s total renewable capacity will now be 4611 MW, including 2947 MW of installed capacity and 1664 MW under construction.
